Products

Motech Control is a specialist UK manufacturer of brushless motor drives and switch-mode power supplies for industrial, military and marine applications. Whilst our products are commonly used in conjuction with continuously rotating motors, they can also be used with linear or limited-angle actuators. Power outputs range from a few tens of watts to more than 100kW. We work closely with a number of motor manufacturers and can design a new drive or adapt an existing one to suit a particular motor or actuator. We can focus on the particular parameter which is important to the user, whether this is performance, cost, or some other factor.

Except for products with very low power outputs, all Motech Control drives operate using Pulse Width Modulation (P.W.M.) techniques. The use of P.W.M. together with the latest semiconductor devices provides high power outputs with excellent efficiency. Most drives incorporate an integral switch-mode power supply to provide the necessary internal rails. This means a single external supply is usually sufficient, a.c. or d.c, mains or portable.

We can accommodate most user interfaces, including user-defined serial link protocols, analogue voltage control and monitoring, and industry-standard bus communications (CANBUS, PROFIBUS). The drive can operate with internal analogue or digital current, velocity and position loops.

Products can be supplied compliant with current European Directives (EMC, Low Voltage, etc) or, where our products are incorporated into larger equipment, we can provide relevant documentation and assist with any necessary testing of the overall assembly.
